Adoption Center
Adopt a fresh egg every 12 hours from a shelf that restocks hourly, or give a rehomed pet from another player a new family. Also: pet slots - every account starts with 3 pets, buys or earns more, and tops out at 250.
The Adoption Center is where new pets join your family. Kara the adoption coordinator runs the place, and there are two ways to adopt: pick a fresh egg from the rotating shelves, or take in a pet another player is rehoming.

Adopting an egg
Current live settings:
- The shelves hold 9 eggs, and the full set is replaced at the top of every hour. They never sit empty between refreshes: as soon as the shelves are down to one egg, Kara restocks them to 9 again. The page shows a live countdown to the next batch.
- Each egg slot rolls 80% common, 15% rare, 5% epic.
- Adopting an egg requires a nest, which is consumed. New accounts are given a Cozy Nest at registration; after that the Nesting Nook sells four, from 100 to 500 MPC. See Nests below - they are not interchangeable.
- You can adopt one egg every 12 hours.
- The standard pet limit is 3 pets. You can buy extra slots with coins from your My Pets page - the first costs 5,000 MPC, and each one after costs 1,000 MPC more than the last (6,000, and so on). Items with the Expand Pet Slots effect (like the Pet Permit, 2,550 MPC) also permanently raise your limit by one pet per use, and are usually the better deal once slots get pricey - if you can find one in stock.
- The most any account can hold is 250 pets. Every route to a bigger family counts toward that same cap - coin slots, Pet Slot Expansion items, the free slot that comes with a Legendary Mystery Egg, and the slot granted at the top of the Griffin Trials ladders. At 250, no more slots can be bought or granted. Your current limit is always shown on the My Pets page.
When you adopt, you name the pet: 3-16 characters, lowercase letters and numbers only, and it must be unique across all of MiroPets. The name is permanent unless you pay 2,500 MPC later to rename. The egg hatches into a baby on the nest's timer and arrives with full hunger, happiness, and health. You do not have to sit and watch it: the congratulations banner has an "Alert me when it hatches" button that will ping your phone or desktop the moment the egg opens, and MiroPets emails you as well the first time one of your eggs hatches. Most players spend the wait earning coins in Games, which shows a live countdown to your hatch while you play.
Nests
The nest you spend decides how fast the egg hatches and whether the pet starts with bonus XP:
- Cozy Nest (100 MPC) - hatches in 15 minutes.
- Leafnest (175 MPC) - hatches in 12 minutes, +25 XP head start.
- Greenest (250 MPC) - hatches in 10 minutes, +50 XP head start.
- Rainest (500 MPC, rare) - hatches in 6 minutes, +100 XP head start.
The head start counts toward the 2,500 XP a baby needs to reach adulthood, so a Rainest is worth more than the faster hatch alone suggests. It does not count toward your own player level. If you hold more than one kind of nest, the Adoption Center lets you choose which to spend. One exception: a brand-new account's first-ever egg hatches in just 2 minutes, whichever nest it uses — the timers above apply from the second adoption on.
Mystery Eggs and featured eggs
- A Mystery Egg has a 5% chance to appear with each hourly restock. You will not know the species until it hatches: 50% rare, 45% epic, 5% legendary. It is the only way an adoption-shelf egg can hatch a legendary.
- Legendary Mystery Egg: the Treasure Trove sells a gold-crowned egg ($3.99) that always hatches a Legendary — Chrome, Gold, Stained Glass, Opal or the new Obsidian pets. It comes with a free pet slot and a 15-minute nest, and you name it right after paying, the same way you name an adoption. The Adoption Center shows a banner for it.
- When a new color theme launches, one egg from the featured theme is guaranteed on the shelves every hour for the length of the event.
- When a species is featured - a brand-new animal, or one newly added to the rotation, like the Velumi in September 2026 - one egg of that species is guaranteed on the shelves every hour as well. A banner above the shelves shows the species and counts down to the end of the event.
- First Edition Eggs (past event, August 18–20, 2026): for a few days, pets that had never been adopted by any player appeared on the shelves with a First Edition badge, and adopting one made you that pet's first-ever owner. Every First Edition found a home, so the event ended early and the badge is retired.
Golden Adoption Pass
The Golden Adoption Pass (epic, 4,000 MPC, rotates through the EPIC Only and Ticket Counter shops) resets your 12-hour adoption cooldown so you can adopt a second egg the same day. You can use one pass per day.
Rehomed pets
Below the eggs, other players list pets they are rehoming. The section shows ten at a time in a random order; press Load More to see the rest. These adoptions work differently:
- No nest needed, and they do not touch your 12-hour egg cooldown - you only need a free pet slot.
- The seller sets the price (some are free); the MPC goes straight to them.
- The pet keeps its name, stage, stats, and progress.
- Listings last 24 hours. If the pet belongs to a den, den membership (and leadership, marked with a badge) transfers to you.
You can rehome your own pets too: open any non-egg pet's page, list it with your price (0 MPC for a free adoption, up to 1,000,000 MPC), and the listing runs for 24 hours in the Adoption Center. Rehoming requires a verified email and player Level 3 or higher, and the pet must be home — not in the Hotel, on an Expedition, or otherwise away. A pet you are offering in a Haggle Hut listing or trade offer cannot be rehomed until you cancel that. If nobody adopts the pet before the listing expires, the pet leaves MiroPets permanently — its earned XP stays on your account, but the pet does not return to you, so only list a pet you are truly ready to part with, and price it to find a family.
Rehoming hands a pet to another player. If you just want to free the slot and let a pet go without an adoption, that is Release to the Wild — permanent, immediate, and available from the same Manage Pet section of the pet's page.
Good habits
- Check back on the hour - the entire shelf changes, so an epic or Mystery Egg you missed is never more than 60 minutes from being replaced by something new.
- Keep a spare nest in your backpack so a great egg never slips away while you shop.
- Save the good nests for the eggs you care about - spending a Rainest on a common egg wastes 400 MPC of head start.
- Browse the rehomed section even when your cooldown is running; those adoptions are always available.
- Verify the name in the availability checker before confirming - it is yours for good.
