MiroHomes
Your own room, furnished with real items, where all your pets live. Beds slow decay, fridges and toy chests store food and toys, and invited friends can drop by live.
Your MiroHome is a room of your own. All of your pets live in it, you furnish it with real items from your backpack, and friends you invite can drop by while you are there — live, at the same time, chatting and helping themselves to your fridge.
Every player has one. Open /homes and yours is waiting.
Where to find it
- Direct link: /homes
- Menu path: Pets → Home. The menu entry carries a small label so you always know why to go home: (Get) until you have placed your first piece, (Live) when a friend is hanging out in your home right now, (Claim) while today's Home Comforts is waiting (hover it to see the MPC, 100 plus any visitor bonus), and a grey count such as (3 pats) once you have claimed but friends have dropped by since.
- Your public room: /homes/yourusername
Making it yours
Name it. Tap the pencil beside the home name to rename it — anything up to 60 characters.
Furnish it. Furniture, wallpaper and flooring are ordinary items. Buy them at Homeward Hollow, win them, or trade for them, and they land in your backpack like anything else. Open the Decorate drawer under the room and tap a piece to place it in the room you are looking at. Each card shows the piece with a Rare or Epic tag, a chip saying what it does — Sleeps 4 for a bed, Holds 40 for a fridge or toy chest, Wall art, Lighting and so on — and a ×3 badge when you own more than one. Once you own more than one kind of piece, chips above the grid filter by kind (Beds, Fridges, Seating, Wall art…), and a search box appears past a dozen pieces. On a phone the drawer is one card with Furniture and Walls & floors tabs.
> Placing a piece uses up the copy in your backpack, exactly like stocking a fish tank. Take the piece back out of the room and the copy returns to your backpack, ready to sell, trade or place again. Nothing is ever destroyed — it just moves.
Arrange it. Drag any piece where you want it. With a piece selected you can:
- Flip it to face the other way.
- Send it forward or back so it overlaps the way you want.
- Make it Bigger or Smaller — anything from 0.6x to 1.6x its normal size, in 0.1 steps.
- Remove it back to your backpack.
Changes save themselves as you go. There is no Save button to forget.
Lock it. Happy with the arrangement? Press Lock layout under the room and nothing can be dragged — on a phone especially, a stray thumb used to shuffle a finished room. Fridges and toy chests still open with a tap while locked, and placing or removing pieces still works; press Unlock layout to rearrange again. The lock is saved with your home, so it holds on every device.
Dress the walls and floor. Wallpapers and floorings are their own item types, and each one is a real painted surface - a starry sky, oak planks, a forest mural - not a plain colour. The Walls & floors section of the Decorate drawer opens with two painted tiles, On the wall and On the floor, showing exactly what the room wears right now. Below them your rolls are grouped into Wallpaper rolls and Flooring rolls, each drawn as a wide swatch of the real surface. Tap the swatch to try a roll on your room without spending it — it stays highlighted while you are trying it, and tapping again takes it off — and Apply beside the name keeps it. Applying one swaps out whatever was there before and returns the old one to your backpack, so you can redecorate as often as you like without losing anything. Take down (on the wall tile) or Roll up (on the floor tile) puts the room's built-in wall or floor back and returns the roll to your backpack. Shop, catalog and Findley cards show a strip of the actual wall or floor under the roll art, so you know what you are buying.
Each room holds 50 pieces at once (see More rooms below). Wall items (art, lamps, shelves) hang on the upper part of the room; everything else stands on the floor. The floor is deep enough for furniture to stand in rows - drag a piece higher to put it further back.
Your pets in the room
Each room holds 10 pets at a time. If you own more than that — and plenty of players own dozens — the rest wait quietly out of the scene until you swap them in. Pets that are away from home (boarding at the Hotel or out on an Expedition) are not in the room at all until they come back, and eggs stay in their nest.
Choosing who lives there. The Who's home button under the room opens the picker: every pet you have at home, with Bring in or Tuck away next to each one. There is a search box once you have more than 10 pets, so finding one by name is quick. The counter on the button — 3 / 10 — is how many spots you have filled.
Until you choose, your 10 highest-experience pets fill the room and the others wait. Once the room is full, bringing another pet in means tucking somebody away first.
Inside the room, drag a pet anywhere you like and it stays put. Tapping a pet also gives you Tuck away without opening the picker.
Tucking is purely cosmetic. A tucked pet is still at home: it still sleeps in its bed, still gets the decay bonus, and still eats from your fridge. Nothing about your pets' care changes with who is on screen.
Functional furniture
Three kinds of furniture actually do something.
Beds slow pet decay
A bed covers a number of pets and slows how fast their hunger, happiness and health drain away.
| Bed | Rarity | Decay slowed by | Covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cozy Cushion Bed | Common | 15% | 2 pets |
| Oakwood Pet Bed | Rare | 20% | 2 pets |
| Cloudpuff Four-Poster | Epic | 30% | 3 pets |
| Bunk Bed | Rare | 20% | 4 pets |
| Dreamer's Dormitory | Epic | 30% | 6 pets |
Coverage is worked out for you: your best beds are used first, and they cover your highest-experience pets at home. Put out two Cozy Cushion Beds and four pets are covered at 15% each; add a Cloudpuff Four-Poster and your top 3 pets move up to 30%. Beds do not stack on a single pet — each pet gets the single best bed available to it.
Bed coverage is a discount on decay, not a replacement for care. A well-bedded pet still gets hungry, just more slowly. See Feeding and Caring for Pets.
Fridges hold food
A fridge is storage that lives outside your backpack. Move food into it and it stays there until someone eats it.
| Fridge | Rarity | Holds |
|---|---|---|
| Minty Mini Fridge | Common | 20 items |
| Frostbox Family Fridge | Rare | 40 items |
Feeding a pet from your own fridge works exactly like feeding from your backpack — same effect, same item used up — and you can do it as often as you have food. Items sitting in a fridge are out of your backpack, so they cannot be sold or listed until you take them back out.
Nothing in a fridge is reserved for a particular pet. Any pet at home can eat anything in there. The Feeding: dropdown at the top of the fridge simply picks which pet is eating right now — change it and press Feed again to give the same food to somebody else.
Toy chests hold toys
| Toy chest | Rarity | Holds |
|---|---|---|
| Oakwood Toy Trunk | Common | 20 items |
| Rainbow Toy Chest | Rare | 40 items |
Same idea as the fridge: stock it with toys, and you (or a guest) can pick a toy and play with a pet for the toy's usual happiness boost. Toy chests arrive empty — filling them is your job. The Playing with: dropdown works the same way as the fridge's — it is who is playing, not who the toy belongs to.
Home Comforts: your daily claim
Once a day, your home pays you back for keeping it. Open /homes and press Claim on the green Home Comforts card at the top:
- Every pet in your rooms (up to 20 of them, highest experience first) gets +10 happiness and 10 XP (boosted by the pet's usual XP modifiers). A pet sleeping in a bed gets +5 happiness on top.
- You collect 100 MPC, plus a bonus for being a good host: 5 MPC per pat your pets received (up to 20 pats), 10 MPC per guestbook note (up to 5), and 5 MPC per doorbell ring (up to 5), counted since your last claim. That is up to 275 MPC on a busy day.
The card tells you exactly what today's claim is worth before you press it, and what visitors did while you were out. You need at least one piece of furniture placed — an empty room is not much of a home. Claims reset at midnight MPT; anything visitors do after you have claimed counts toward tomorrow. Your dashboard's Featured MiroHome card reminds you when today's claim is waiting.
Only pets actually standing in the room settle in, so a bigger room full of pets earns more happiness and XP than one with two pets and the rest tucked away.
More rooms
A MiroHome starts as one room — the Living Room — and can grow to 5 rooms. Under your room, the Add a room card offers the next one; pick what kind it is and pay for it right there. Rooms are priced by how many you already have: the second room 15,000 MPC, the third room 30,000 MPC, the fourth room 60,000 MPC, the fifth room 100,000 MPC. The kinds, each of which you can have once:
- Bedroom — Somewhere quiet for the beds.
- Kitchen — Fridges look right at home here.
- Playroom — Toys, games and the toy chest.
- Backyard — Open sky and a lawn to run on. It is outdoors: open sky above and lawn underfoot, a deeper floor so pets have room to run, and no wallpaper, flooring or wall art — there is no wall to hang anything on. Backyard-only pieces are on the way.
Every room has its own walls, floor, 50 pieces and 10 pets, and shows up as a tab above the room for you and for anyone who visits. Beds, fridges and toy chests work in any room, and a bed anywhere in the house still covers your pets wherever they stand.
Moving things between rooms. Tap a piece or a pet and choose Move to — it lands in the other room at a fresh spot, and a fridge or toy chest brings its contents along. The Who's home picker says which room each pet is in, with Move here to bring one over.
Room Blueprint. A Room Blueprint (an epic ticket from the Ticket Counter) builds your next room in place of the coins, whatever that room would have cost — so it is worth the most on the later, pricier rooms. It is spent from the Add a room card, not from your backpack.
Rooms can be renamed from the pencil on their tab. Home Comforts, visits, pats, the guestbook and invites all belong to the home as a whole, not to a room.
Exploring other homes
Explore MiroHomes is the neighborhood directory: a Featured Home of the Day (a fresh pick every day; your dashboard's Featured MiroHome card shows a still picture of that home's Living Room, furniture and pets included, and tapping the picture takes you to the door), Popular This Week — the homes with the most drop-bys, pats and guestbook notes in the last seven days — your friends' homes, recently decorated rooms, and a Surprise me button that knocks on a random door. Every card shows how many visits, pats and notes a home has picked up, and a green Live now badge marks a home where someone is hanging out at that moment. "Recently decorated" counts any change — moving, flipping, resizing or restyling bumps a room back to the top, not just placing something new. The link sits on your own home page and at the bottom of every home you visit.
Dropping by someone else's home also counts toward the House Call daily quest when it comes up.
Visitors
Anyone can look. Your room has a public page at /homes/yourusername, linked from your profile. The address sits in the bar across the bottom of your home's header, with a Copy button next to it, so sharing it anywhere takes one tap. Visitors see the room exactly as you arranged it, pets and all. They cannot move or use anything — but they are not just looking through the window either; see Every visitor can say hello below. Your own home page shows how many drop-bys you got this week and who came recently — proof your decorating has an audience.
Prefer privacy? The Public / Private pill in that same bar flips it. While a room is private the link only opens for you.
Every visitor can say hello. Dropping by an open home is more than window-shopping:
- Pat the pets. Tap any pet in the room to give it a pat — the pet gets +3 happiness, and each pet can take one pat from each visitor per day. The owner does nothing and their pets come home happier; being popular is good pet care.
- Sign the guestbook. Every open home has a guestbook under the room showing the latest notes. You can leave one note per home per day — up to 200 characters, with the same language rules as everywhere else on the site. The owner gets a notification with your note. Like all messaging, signing is not available to players under 13, and logged-out visitors can read a guestbook but not sign it.
- Ring the doorbell. Once a day per home, the doorbell tells the owner you dropped by. If you are already friends, it nudges them to invite you in; if not, it points them at your profile so a friend request can start things off.
Daily limits reset at midnight MPT, the same as the fridge and toy limits below. Friends can come in. Your friends are listed under Invite friends in at the bottom of your home page, with a green dot next to whoever is online — tap Invite to let one in. With a long friend list, search the list and tap Invite on whoever you were looking for. Everyone you have already invited sits in the Invited column beside it, where Remove revokes access. Invites are friends-only, so send a friend request first. An invite is standing: they can visit whenever they like until you revoke it. Snug delivers the invite by mail, so they know straight away, and you can turn those off under MiroHome invites in your notification settings.
Invited friends help themselves. A guest can feed their own pets from your fridge and play with their own pets using your toys. Your food, their pet. It is a generous system on purpose — but there is a daily limit so nobody empties your fridge:
- 2 items from the fridge per visitor, per home, per day.
- 2 toy plays per visitor, per home, per day.
Limits reset at midnight MPT and are counted per home, so a busy day of house calls is fine.
Live hangouts
If you and an invited friend are both looking at the room, you are in it together.
- Joining asks which of your pets you walk in as. That pet becomes your character in the room.
- Move around by tapping or clicking where you want to go.
- Everyone in the room sees everyone else move, arrive and leave.
- There is a chat box for the room. Only invited friends are ever in it.
Hangout chat follows exactly the same rules as Global Chat: the same language filter, and the same strikes. A blocked message earns a warning, then a 1-hour timeout, then 24 hours, then a permanent chat ban — and those strikes are shared, so a strike in a hangout counts toward a Global Chat ban and the other way round. Chat is not available to players under 13.
- While you are walking around as one pet, your other pets step aside so the room does not get crowded. They are back the moment you leave.
- The chat box opens on the last day's conversation (up to 30 lines), so a room that was busy earlier does not look empty when you walk in.
Knowing when to show up. A hangout used to need a lucky coincidence. Now:
- When you step into your own home, every invited friend gets a "you're home right now" notification with a link to your door (at most one per friend every 2 hours, and only friends who have played in the last two weeks).
- When a friend walks into your home while you are not there, you get a notification, so you can pop in and say hi.
- The room page shows a green live banner naming who is in the hangout at that moment — invited friends see it as an invitation to join, and everyone else at least sees that the owner is home. Your own home page shows who is in your room right now, and Explore marks live homes with a badge.
- If your connection drops, the page says so and offers to rejoin, instead of quietly putting you back outside.
These notices arrive under MiroHome invites in your notification settings, so turning that off turns these off too.
Hangouts are for invited friends only — a public visitor gets the still picture, not the live room.
Guestbook notes and hangout chat both show MiroPets emotes: type :) or lol and the image appears - the full code list is in Global Chat.
Good to know
- Furniture is a normal item type, so it flows through Shops, the Auction House, player shops and trades like anything else.
- Removing a piece returns it to your backpack in the condition you placed it.
- Rearranging costs nothing. Redecorate as often as you like.
