Food Value Guide

The cheapest food in the NPC shops, which foods give the most hunger per MPC, the one-item full bowls, and what a day of feeding really costs.

Feeding pets is the one bill every player pays, so it is worth knowing which foods are cheap and which are good value. They are not always the same food. This guide covers the 268 hunger foods the NPC shops can stock.

Where to find it

How food prices work

  • NPC prices are fixed. A food costs the same in every NPC shop that sells it, and the price does not change between restocks. The tables below use those prices.
  • Stock is not fixed. Each shop restocks every hour from its own pool of items, weighted 80% towards commons (see Shops). A food in these tables can be sold out right now; check back after the next hourly restock.
  • Player shops set their own prices. They can be cheaper or dearer than the NPC price. An NPC shop page tells you when a player sells the same item for less.
  • Hunger stops at 100. Anything past a full bowl is wasted, so a big meal is only good value on a hungry pet.

The cheapest foods

The lowest prices in the NPC shops. These are cheap, but most of them barely touch the hunger bar. Many are Kitchen ingredients that also fill a pet a little.

Most hunger for your coins

Sorted by hunger per 100 MPC, the fairest way to compare a snack with a feast. Commons are what the shops stock most, so start here. The best common ratio is 20 hunger per 100 MPC, and 29 commons share it; these are the cheapest ten of them:

Two or three good-value commons usually fill a pet for less. The Recommended card on the pet page picks the combination with the least waste for you.

What a day of feeding costs

Hunger drops 2 points an hour, which is 48 a day per pet. At the best common ratio (Fizzy Fruit Fizz, 28 hunger for 140 MPC) that is roughly 240 MPC per pet per day. VIP members' pets and pets with a bed in your MiroHome lose hunger more slowly, so they cost less.

Ways to pay less

  • Favorite food. Every pet has a secret favorite food, always a common that costs 50-500 MPC. When you feed it, the hunger it restores is doubled, which doubles its value for that pet.
  • The Pantry. Claim a free item from the Pantry every hour.
  • Care for All on the Pets page uses common food before rare food, so it never spends a feast where a snack would do (see Feeding and Caring for Pets).
