Loop Defense
Tower defense starring the Velumi: place and upgrade defenders around the great tail loop to stop Gloom Wisps from reaching the Gleam Bead across 15 waves. Server-verified scores, daily Top Defenders board, and The Golden Gleam trophy.
Loop Defense is MiroPets' tower defense game, starring the Velumi. Gloom Wisps slip in through the tail-tip gap and creep around the great Velumi loop toward the Gleam Bead at its center. Your job: recruit Velumi defenders onto the pads around the loop, upgrade them, and hold the line through all 15 waves to save the Bead — and then hold the endless waves for as long as you possibly can.

How it works
- The bead starts with 10 charges. Every wisp that reaches it burns one — bosses burn three. Lose them all and the run ends.
- You start with 230 gold and earn more from every wisp popped, plus a bonus for each wave cleared.
- Tap any of the 16 pads to build; tap a tower to upgrade or sell. You can build mid-battle too — sometimes an emergency Velumi is the difference.
- Towers have three levels. Selling refunds 70% of everything invested.
- Between waves you'll see exactly what's coming next, and a 2x speed button keeps battles snappy.
The defenders
| Velumi | Cost | Specialty |
|---|---|---|
| Velucandy | 70g | Sticky candy lobs that slow wisps by 40–50% |
| Velocrome | 85g | Rapid-fire gleam darts, longest range |
| Velobloom | 110g | Dark bursts that damage every wisp near the target |
| Glimmeroo | 90g | Attacks nothing — mints 12–32 gold at the end of every wave |
The invaders
- Gloom Wisp — the rank and file. Unremarkable, but they arrive in crowds.
- Dart Wisp — fast and fragile. Velucandy's slow turns them back into targets.
- Bulwark Wisp — slow, armored, and stubborn. Focused fire or splash damage required.
- Wisp Monarch — the boss. Enormous health, burns 3 bead charges, and shows up when you least want it.
Later waves field tougher versions of every wisp — the same enemies come back meaner. Waves 13–15 are the endgame: swarming floods, bulwark walls, and a final wave anchored by twin Wisp Monarchs. Very few defenses ever survive it — a full clear is meant to be a badge of honor.
Endless waves
Clearing wave 15 saves the Gleam Bead, and that victory is yours for keeps — the win and its bonus points are banked the moment the wave ends, counted on the bead charges you had at that moment. Playing on can never take them back.
Then wave 16 arrives, and there is no wave counter any more.
- Endless waves rotate through three shapes: a flood of dart wisps, a wall of bulwarks, and a Monarch court that fields more Monarchs the deeper you go.
- Every endless wave is tougher than the one before it. The wisps' health climbs relentlessly, while your gold income does not — and there are only 16 pads and three tower levels. Sooner or later the arithmetic wins.
- There is no final wave and nobody clears them all. The question is only how deep you get before the bead falls.
- Endless waves pay fewer coins each than campaign waves, and the total payout is capped. Depth is for the leaderboard, not for farming.
- Losing does not cost you your score. When the bead falls, the run is submitted for you automatically — every point, including the wisps you popped during the wave that beat you. The only thing a losing wave does not pay is its own wave-clear bonus. So there is never a reason to stop early out of caution: playing one more wave is always worth at least as much as banking.
- Runs get long. The Bank run button (between waves, once you've cleared at least one) ends the run on your terms and keeps everything you've scored. It is for when you need to leave, not for protecting a score.
The game is completely deterministic — no dice, no random spawns, no seed. Every player faces the exact same wisps in the exact same order, so a deeper run is always a better-played run.
Scoring and payout
- Every kill scores points (bigger wisps are worth more), and every cleared wave adds a bonus that grows with the wave number — wave 20 is worth far more than wave 2, so depth dominates the scoreboard.
- Clearing wave 15 banks extra points for every bead charge still standing.
- MPC payout grows with waves cleared, with a victory bonus on top that scales with how many bead charges you protected at the clear, plus a smaller bonus for each endless wave held. The total is capped. Coin-boost items apply as usual.
- Your result is verified by the server replaying your entire battle, so the leaderboards stay honest.
Plays
- 5 runs per day, reset at midnight MPT. VIP members get 2 extra.
- A run is counted when it starts. Closing the page or navigating away mid-run is the one thing that forfeits it — the browser warns you first. Losing does not: the bead falling submits your run automatically. If you need to stop early, use Bank run between waves.
- The Tower Tactician daily quest counts any battle you play to the end — win or lose.
Pet XP
Your active pet cheers from the sidelines and earns XP that grows with every wave you clear, plus a bonus for a full victory.
Leaderboards and trophy
- The daily Top Defenders board ranks the day's highest scores.
- The all-time Trophy Case crown is The Golden Gleam — the highest score ever recorded, with waves cleared as the tiebreak. Because the endless waves never run out, there is no perfect score to tie: the crown always belongs to whoever went deepest.
Good habits
- Cover the first stretch of the loop early — gold spent on wave 1 compounds for eleven more.
- Velucandy pairs beautifully with Velobloom: slowed wisps bunch up, and bunched wisps eat the whole burst.
- A Glimmeroo built in the early waves pays for itself by the late game — but a Glimmeroo built while the bead is burning is just an expensive statue.
- The Wisp Monarch leads its wave, so your towers focus it automatically. Make sure something big is waiting along the back half of the loop.
- Save the Bead with charges to spare. Every charge you keep through wave 15 is both banked points and one more endless wave you get to survive.
- In the endless waves, gold eventually outruns anything to spend it on. Finish every upgrade before you start filling far-flung pads.
