Arcane Cipher
Crack a four-rune spell in eight guesses. Solving fast and early pays up to 100 MPC; a failed cipher pays nothing.
Arcane Cipher is a code-breaking puzzle. A secret spell is four runes long, drawn from six possible runes, and you have eight guesses to crack it. Runes can repeat, which is what makes it harder than it looks.

Reading the clues
After each guess you are told how close you were:
- An exact mark means a rune is right and in the right place.
- A partial mark means the rune appears in the spell but somewhere else.
The marks never tell you which rune they refer to — working that out is the game. Duplicate runes are counted honestly, so two partials means two of that rune really are in there.
What you earn
Cracking the cipher pays 25 MPC, plus:
- 8 MPC for every guess you did not need — solving in four leaves four spare, worth 32 MPC.
- A speed bonus of a coin for every 6 seconds under two minutes.
The total is capped at 100 MPC. A cipher you fail to crack pays nothing, so this is the rare game here with no consolation. Coin boosts and your active pet's happiness are applied on top of whatever you earn.
Plays and your pet
- You get 5 ciphers a day, reset at midnight MPT. VIP members get 7.
- Crack it and your active pet earns 20 XP plus 3 per unused guess, and +6 happiness. Fail and it still earns 8 XP and +3 happiness for trying.

Arcane Cipher's all-time record in The Trophy Case is for the fewest guesses, so a lower number wins.
Good habits
- Spend your first guess on information, not on winning. Four different runes tells you far more than a lucky stab.
- Guesses are worth 8 MPC each. Thinking for another ten seconds costs under 2 MPC — always think.
- Track what you have ruled out. With six runes and four slots the answer is reachable by logic alone; guessing blind is what burns the eight.
Pet Intelligence
Finishing a round also earns your active pet +1 Intelligence — or +2 for a strong performance. See Pet Intelligence.
Genius hint
If your active pet is a Genius (Intelligence 100+), a Hint button appears under the rune slots. Press it once per game and the cipher gives up one rune and the slot it belongs in. Every Intelligence tier from Bright up also adds bonus coins to a winning cast — the coin breakdown shows the extra.
