School's In! Miss Plume Opens the Baby Class

For as long as anyone can remember, baby pets have had exactly one job: grow up. Adults got the Gym and Coach Roary's whistle. Babies got... a long wait and a lot of naps.

That ends this week. The School is open — and Miss Plume, a tweed-cardiganed owl with very large glasses and very little patience for tardiness, is taking enrollment for the baby class right now.

How a School Day Works

School runs weekdays only, and the schedule is pinned to the clock (all times MPT):

Before 8:00 AM — drop-off. Enroll any baby pet at The School before the morning bell. The night before works too, and weekend sign-ups hold a desk for Monday. Until the bell rings, your pet stays home and playable.
8:00 AM — the bell. Enrolled pupils head to class for the day.
2:00 PM — dismissal. Pickup opens at the school gate. Come in person and your pet is extra happy you showed up.
7:00 PM — the bus. Anyone still at school rides home free, rewards in hand, homework in backpack.

There are no late fees — Miss Plume does not believe in punishing busy families. Turning up at the gate yourself simply earns a little bonus happiness that the bus cannot match.

What They Learn

A completed school day pays +40 pet XP, +20 happiness and +2 Intelligence — and burns 25 hunger, because learning is hungry work. Feed a proper breakfast before the bell: a well-fed pupil earns bonus XP, exactly as everywhere else in MiroPets.

Then there is homework. Every pupil comes home with a five-problem math sheet, and helping them is your job. One attempt, due by midnight, worth up to +30 bonus XP and +3 bonus Intelligence. Miss Plume grades on the spot, and a perfect sheet earns a gold star. Parents report the problems are suspiciously well matched to the household.

Tuition and the Fine Print

150 MPC a day for your first pupil, and 100 MPC for each sibling enrolled the same day.
Cancel before the bell and every coin comes back.
If your pet is somewhere else when the bell rings — the Hotel, the Pet Park, an expedition — they are marked absent and tuition is refunded in full. No lectures. Well, maybe a short one.
School pets are away from home for the day, like boarded pets: no games, no feeding, no rehoming until they are back. They are also excused from stat decay while in class.

Graduation Day

Here is the detail we suspect will cause the most tears at the gate: if a school day's lessons push a baby past 2,500 XP, they do not just come home. They graduate — evolving into an adult right there at pickup, diploma and all. It has already happened. The first graduate in School history walked in a hatchling and walked out a grown-up on opening day.

After that, of course, their school days are over — the Gym awaits. Miss Plume insists she does not cry at graduations. The tissue box on her desk says otherwise.

"Every big brain starts small," Miss Plume told the paper, straightening a stack of five-problem worksheets. "Send me your little ones. I will send back scholars — slightly hungrier scholars, but scholars."
