Something Is Moving in MiroTown: Finds on the Ground, Wild Pets and a Pat for Your Neighbour

September 16, 2026 | 15 views | 0 comments

Something is different in MiroTown this week. There are things lying in the grass. There are animals in The Wilds that do not belong to anybody. And the pet standing next to yours by the fountain would quite like a pat, thank you.

Four small things went live today, and together they turn the town from a very pretty menu into a place with a reason to go back.

Things on the ground

Walk any district and, now and then, something is just there — a snack, a toy, a snow globe someone must have dropped — sitting on the grass with a soft ring of light under it. Walk your pet onto it and it is yours, straight into your backpack.

The catch is that everyone in the district sees it land at the same moment you do. The first pet to reach it takes it. A find near a crowd by the Boardwalk is a footrace; a find in a quiet corner of the Farmstead is yours for the strolling. An unclaimed one fades after a couple of minutes, so if you see a ring, go.

A few house rules, so nobody camps the Market Street lawn all day:

  • Each player can pick up five finds a day. After that, walk past and leave them for someone else.
  • Finds only appear in districts with at least one pet in them. An empty district drops nothing.
  • What turns up is everyday shop stock — food and toys, mostly common with the odd rare. A find is a treat, not a wage.
  • A full backpack cannot take one. Make room first.

Wild pets in The Wilds

The clearing south of Snapper's swamp has company. A few wild pets now roam the grass down there — Epic species, and now and then a Legendary one with an amber name tag. They change every hour, and everyone in the district sees the same animals.

They are not tame. Walk toward one and it bolts, then stops at a safe distance and watches you until you lose interest. Tap one to see what it is. That is all you can do for now — a wild pet that trusts you is still something you earn out on an expedition, not something you corner behind the Trailhead. But if you have ever wanted to see a Chromejaw in the wild, it is in the wild.

Pet a pet

Tap another player's pet and the card now has a Pet button. Your pet trots over, a heart pops up over theirs, and their pet gains a little happiness. It is small — +5, once per pet per day, twenty pats a day in total — but it is the first thing in town you can do for somebody rather than next to them. Eggs would rather be left alone.

Town Explorer

There is a new daily quest in the rotation. Town Explorer asks you to visit three different districts in a day and pays like any other daily quest. Walk through an exit, cross a district on the way to the Bank, drop into The Wilds to look at the animals — three districts is a short stroll.

Who is in town right now

The MiroTown entry in the Activities menu now shows how many pets are walking the town at this moment, from anywhere on the site, and your dashboard will tell you when the streets are busy. If it says twelve, there are twelve. Go and say hello.

Everything above is in the MiroTown guide on the Wiki with the exact numbers. The town is at /town/ — bring your active pet, mind the rings, and be gentle with the Chromejaw.
