Gill's Grand Reopening: Gravel, Lights, Backdrops and a Bigger Tank

Gill has cleared the shelves at the Aquarium Shop and restocked them with the biggest batch of tank gear since the shop opened. Colourful gravel, clip-on lights, printed backdrops, a handful of MiroPets keepsakes and a proper stretch of the tank itself — all live today in your Aquarium.

A bigger tank, and room to swim

First, the thing everyone with a full Grand Tank noticed: the fish were piling up. The tank now fills the page, and every fish gets its own lane in the water. Fish further back swim smaller and behind the ones in front, and a crowded tank draws everyone a little smaller, so a hundred fish read as a school instead of a heap. There is also a new watch mode button in the corner of the tank that fills your whole screen with it. It works on public tank pages too, so go and admire a friend's.

Gravel, lights and backdrops

Three new kinds of tank fixture change the whole scene instead of sitting on the floor:

• Gravel covers the tank floor in glossy plastic pebbles. Six colours, from Rainbow to Midnight Black Sand.
• Lights clip onto the rim and set the mood. The Sunrise Lamp is warm and rosy, the Moonlight LED turns the tank dim and dreamy, the Rainbow Strip slowly rolls through every hue, and the Blacklight makes glow pieces shine — Glow Gravel, the Glow Anemone and the new MiroPets Neon Sign all light up under it.
• Backdrops slide in behind the glass: a Coral Reef, a Sunken City, Deep Space and a Tropical Lagoon.

You can install one of each. Each fixture takes a decor slot like any other decoration, and installing a new one of the same kind swaps the old one back into your backpack. The new Tank Setup strip under your tank shows what is installed.

Rainbow Gravel
