The Pet Park Grows: Harvest Festival, The Meadow and Concert Night

The Bandstand was finished this afternoon, and that completed every project on the Pet Park ladder. Fern has been busy since. Here is what is new at the park, starting today.

The Harvest Festival

The next project is a seasonal one. Fund 400,000 MPC together and the park dresses for autumn: pumpkin patches, hay bales, glowing lantern posts and a leaf pile, up until November 1.

While the decorations are up, a pet that finishes an incident-free stay of 9 hours or more has a small chance of bringing home something you can't get anywhere else:

The Meadow

Pan the park to the right and you'll find a whole new meadow behind the old east fence, with a pond, open lawns and wildflowers. It's fenced off for now. After the Harvest Festival, the ladder's next goal is 2,000,000 MPC to open the gate. That makes the park 83% bigger and gives the pets plenty of room to spread out. Five new amenities are lined up for the Meadow after that: a Fishing Dock, a Hedge Maze, an Agility Course, a Community Garden and a Lantern Walk.

Meadow Dedications

The park's biggest supporters can leave their mark. Once you have given 100,000 MPC to the park in total (upkeep and projects both count), you can dedicate a bench along the Meadow path or plant a sapling on its lawns. It carries a plaque with your name or one of your pets' names. There are 42 spots and they are permanent. Dedications made now are reserved and appear on the day the Meadow opens. You can already tap them on the map.

Concert Night, Every Night

The Bandstand has a band now. Every evening from 6pm to 7pm MPT there's a concert. Pets drift over to listen, every pet in the park earns bonus XP, and balls and treats thrown during the show count double.

This Week's Goal

Each week the whole park works toward one shared goal, like getting 105 different players to bring a pet to the park. Goals count players, not coins, so everyone counts once. Meet the goal and everyone gets a reward for the rest of the week, such as better souvenir odds or twice-as-fast toys.

Best Pals and Good Moments

Park Pals who keep playing together can become Best Pals, up to three for each pet. Best Pals look for each other in the park and earn extra XP when they're picked up together. You can also send a Best Pal's owner a quick wave, cheer or high five from the pet's card.

Not everything that happens in the park is a scuffle any more. Pets share snacks, play tag, comfort each other after a fright and sometimes find a lost toy in the long grass. These good moments show up on the pet's card and add XP at pickup.

Den Picnics

Den leaders and officers can book the Picnic Grove for an hour. Members' pets gather there and earn bonus XP, and if pets from three or more members come along, the den earns a point toward its next level.

Everything is explained in the Pet Park guide. See you at the Bandstand!
