Parcel Bluff: Call Their Bluff at the Depot

The depot at the edge of MiroTown has a new problem: not every parcel holds what the label says. Parcel Bluff is a short bluffing card game where you and a MiroTown character take turns sending parcels and deciding whether to believe each other. It is live now at Parcel Bluff.

How it works

Every delivery comes with an order: Snacks, Toys or Books. The sender packs one to three cards face down and swears they are all what was ordered. The receiver either trusts the parcel or opens it. Catch a lie and you score two. Open an honest parcel and you hand the sender a bonus instead. Eight deliveries, most points wins, and every parcel that was trusted gets opened at the end, so nobody gets away with anything for long.

There are exactly eight Snacks, eight Toys and eight Books in the whole game, and the table keeps a running count of every card you have seen. If someone claims three Books when you can already account for six of them, do the sums.

Three characters with habits

• Rooty, keeper of the Garden Shed, is honest to a fault and not very good at hiding it.
• Captain Cove loves a big parcel and a bigger story, and counts cards in a pirate sort of way.
• Peek, host of Hide & Seek, watches everything through that spyglass and adjusts to how often you bluff.

Each of them does a little something when handing over a parcel, and one habit slips out more often when they are fibbing. Your Notebook records which habit went with which parcel, match after match, so every character gets easier to read the more you play. We are not telling you which habit it is.

Stars, coins and the board

Beat an opponent to unlock the next. Each has three stars to earn: a win, a Big Haul (win by four or more) and a Sharp Eye (win having caught a bluff and opened nothing honest). Wins pay 90, 130 and 180 MPC up the ladder, with a one-time first-win bonus on each, and your active pet earns XP. Five matches a day, more for VIP members.

The bottom of the page shows the latest results from around the depot, Today's Big Hauls for the biggest winning margin, and the Star Collectors. On the day Parcel Bluff is the Featured Game, the Spotlight Prize Board pays out on Today's Big Hauls.
