The Obsidian Season Begins: MiroPass Season 2 Arrives September 1

The Stained Glass Season is over, and something darker and shinier has taken its place.

Today the MiroPass: Obsidian Season opens — the second MiroPass, running all of September. If you played in August you already know how it works: every point of XP your pets earn fills one shared season meter, and every level you reach unlocks rewards to claim. There is nothing extra to grind. Just play, and the pass fills itself. Everyone gets the free lane, and VIP members get a reward at every single one of the 50 levels on top of it.

The new theme is Obsidian. Thirty-one species have been carved from polished volcanic glass — black as a midnight lake, with violet, magenta, and teal light sliding along every curve. They are Legendary, and they are new today. You can meet the whole set in the Pet Glossary.

There are two ways to get one:

• Climb the pass. The free Level 50 grand prize is the Legendary Obsidian Vial, which transforms one of your pets into its Obsidian variant. It is tradeable, like every item reward on the pass.
• Hatch one. From today, the Legendary Mystery Egg in the Treasure Trove can hatch an Obsidian pet, and Obsidian joins the theme pick — choose it on the egg card and your egg is guaranteed to hatch from the Obsidian set.

The climb is longer this season. August's summit turned out to be a short walk for a lot of you — 63 players finished the pass, and the fastest did it in a single day. So Level 50 now sits at 50,000 season XP (up from 20,000): 500 XP a level to start, 1,000 through the middle, and 2,000 a level for the final stretch. Early levels still come fast; the top is meant to take the month.

Along the way the free lane carries 20 rewards, including the Obsidian Keepsake at Level 20 and the rare Obsidian Seeker charm at Level 25. The VIP lane adds the Obsidian Trophy at Level 10, the exclusive Obsidian Hollow pet card background at Level 20, chests, tickets, elixirs, thousands of MPC, and the legendary Obsidian Champion charm at Level 50. Both season charms disappear for good when September ends.

Holding VIP at any moment during the season — trial, gift, or promo — unlocks the VIP lane for the whole month, and it stays unlocked even if your membership ends.

The season closes September 30 at 11:59 PM MPT. Anything you earned but never claimed is delivered automatically when it ends.
