Volley Paws
Your pet is on beach-ball duty. Keepy Uppy: keep the ball off the sand for a record rally (5 plays a day, up to 180 MPC). Beach Volley: 1v1 over the net against Sandy, Tide, or Gale — first to 7, three touches a side, up to 180 MPC a win (5 matches a day).
Your pet is on beach-ball duty! Volley Paws is a side-on beach game with two ways to play: Keepy Uppy, a solo rally where you keep the ball off the sand as long as you can, and Beach Volley, a 1v1 match over the net against one of three rivals.
Where to find it
- Direct link: /games/volley-paws
- Menu path: Play → Games → Volley Paws
Your active home pet plays, and earns the XP. Its stats matter a little: a higher Attack hits the ball harder, and a higher Defense gives it a bigger body to catch the ball with.
Controls
- Desktop: Arrow keys or A / D to move, Space (or W / Up) to jump, Shift (or S / Down) to bump.
- Phone: slide your thumb along the strip under the court (or across the court itself) and your pet runs to that spot and stops there — line the pet marker up under the ball marker. Tap Jump or Bump, tap anywhere with a second finger to jump, or flick straight up.
Where the ball lands on your pet decides where it flies: hit it with the top of the head and it goes straight up, catch it on a shoulder and it angles away. Jumping into the ball hits it harder and higher. Bump pops a nearby ball straight up and kills its sideways speed — it scores nothing, it is your rescue move, and it has a short cooldown.
If the ball flies above the top of the screen, a small faded ball at the top edge shows where it is; its shadow on the sand shows where it will come down.
Keepy Uppy
- Every touch adds 1 to your rally — the number the leaderboard ranks — and to your score.
- You have 3 saves. The ball touching the sand uses one and pops it back into play; with none left, the run ends. Runs also stop at the 3:00 cap.
- It gets harder as you go: gravity climbs every 10 touches and wind gusts start after 30.
- Rings appear from rally 5 — fly the ball through one for +5 score.
- Stars appear from rally 15 — touch one with the ball and your next 5 touches score double.
- A sand crab scuttles across the court from rally 20. If it pinches your pet it costs a save — jump over it.
- Touches made while the ball is high build a combo: every 5th high touch scores an extra point.
Rewards
Coins are paid by your verified rally, and your pet earns XP with every run:
| Rally | Reward |
|---|---|
| Under 10 | 15 MPC + 10 XP |
| 10+ | 40 MPC + 15 XP |
| 25+ | 80 MPC + 20 XP |
| 50+ | 130 MPC + 25 XP |
| 100+ | 180 MPC + 30 XP |
Beach Volley
A 1v1 over the net on the same beach. First to 7 points, win by 2, capped at 9. The serve alternates with each point.
- You get up to three touches a side. The first is a normal hit, the second hits 15% harder, and the third is a spike — 40% harder and driven flat over the net. A fourth touch is a fault and gives the point away.
- Ball on your sand = your rival's point (and the other way round).
- The net is a wall: a ball into it drops back on the side it came from.
- Matches have a 6:00 safety cap; if it runs out, the leader wins and a tie counts as a loss.
The rivals
| Rival | Difficulty | Style | Win pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sandy the Capybara | Easy | Would rather be napping in the sun. | 90 MPC + 20 XP |
| Tide the Axolotl | Medium | Quick hands, quicker sets. | 130 MPC + 25 XP |
| Gale the Shark | Hard | Three touches, one spike, no mercy. | 180 MPC + 30 XP |
A loss still pays 15 MPC + 5 MPC per point you scored (up to 8 points, so 55 MPC at most) and 10 XP for your pet.
Plays
- Keepy Uppy: 5 plays a day. Beach Volley: 5 matches a day. Both reset at midnight MPT, and VIP members get 2 extra of each.
- A play or match is used when it starts. If you leave the page mid-run it is banked as it stands: a Keepy Uppy run keeps its rally so far, and an unfinished match counts as a loss with the points you had. A run or match that ends within its first second is not counted at all: the play is handed back.
- Switching apps or tabs mid-run pauses the game — come back and tap Resume.
- Every run is checked by the server replaying your inputs, so the leaderboards stay honest.
- The Beach Bouncer daily quest counts either mode.
Leaderboards
- Today's Best Rallies ranks each player's best Keepy Uppy rally of the day (best score as the tiebreak). When Volley Paws is the Featured Game, this is the board the Spotlight Prize Board pays out on.
- Today's Top Volleyers ranks Beach Volley wins for the day, with point difference as the tiebreak.
Tips
- Stay under the ball rather than chasing it — arriving and stopping beats sliding through at full speed, which sends every touch sideways.
- Save your bumps. A bump kills the ball's sideways speed, so it is the reset button when a rally is running away from you.
- In Beach Volley, use all three touches: two soft sets to line yourself up, then a spike your rival cannot reach. Sandy rarely jumps; Gale will.
- The crab only shows up after rally 20 — by then the rally is worth protecting, so jump early rather than late.
Beach gear
Each rival has a souvenir in the shops:
- Sandy's Sun-Nap Towel — a toy printed with Sandy's sleepy face. Play with it for +45 happiness. 225 MPC at the Toy Chest and Sports Outlet.
- Tide's Salted Kelp Crisps — a snack with Tide's grin on the bag. Feeds a pet +30 hunger. 150 MPC at the Food Emporium and Grocery Store.
- Gale's Rally Playbook — a rare book. Reading it unlocks one random locked daily game (it counts as a game ticket, so the usual daily ticket limit applies) and grants 150 XP and +2 Intelligence to the pet you read it to. 785 MPC at The Dusty Tome and Sports Outlet.
