Skip Stones
Flick a stone across the pond and count the skips. 3 stones a play, 3 plays a day, one shared pond for everyone. Par is 8: reach it on any stone to build a streak. Up to 180 MPC a play plus lily-ring bonuses.
Your pet stands on the shore of a pond. You flick a stone, and the game counts the skips. Three stones make a play, and everyone throws across the same pond each day — the wind, the waves and the lily pads change at midnight MPT.
Where to find it

Your active home pet stands on the shore and earns the XP. Its stats matter a little: a higher Attack adds up to 10% more power, and a higher Intelligence steadies the release (less wobble).
Controls
- Aim: press on the pond and pull back toward you, like a slingshot. Pull further for more power; pull to the left or right to angle the throw. A dashed guide on the water shows where the stone is headed and how wide the release wobble is.
- Release: while you hold, the meter under the pond sweeps from low to high and back. Let go when the needle is on the gold mark — that is the flat, fast release that skips best. The mark slides as you pull harder, and it disappears when the pull is too soft to reach a skipping angle at all: soft throws always come in too steep.
- When you let go, the meter freezes for a moment where you released it and tells you how close you were — Perfect!, Close with the degrees off, or Too high / Too low — before the stone leaves your pet's paw and the whole flight plays out on the water. You cannot cancel a throw once released.
How skipping works
- Every time the stone touches the water and keeps going is a skip.
- A stone that meets the water at a shallow angle (about 8°) keeps almost all of its speed; the further from that angle, the more it loses. Every skip also costs a little pace, so a stone eventually runs out and sinks — the results say why: ran out of pace, came in too steep, too flat — it dived, or lost in the reeds.
- Spin keeps the stone level between skips, and spin comes from power — a hard, flat, well-timed throw is the recipe for a long run.
- Wind is an honest push on the stone in the air: a headwind steals pace, a tailwind adds a little, and a crosswind bends the stone's path — aim into it. Waves (glassy, gentle ripples, or chop) tilt the water where the stone lands, so choppy days are harder and glassy days are for personal bests. Today's conditions are shown on the pond and on the start card.
- The pond is about 90 m long. A stone that reaches the far bank stops there with a clonk and earns +5 on that stone's score.
Stones
Each play hands you 3 stones from a pocket:
- Flat — the everyday skipper.
- Round — heavier: about 15% more pace, but it keeps less speed on every skip. Roughly 30% of stones.
- Glimmer — rare (about 1 in 6). It skips like a Flat stone, and its score counts double.
Scoring
- The leaderboard ranks your best single stone (most skips) of the day, with score as the tiebreak.
- Score adds up every stone's skips plus bonuses: +3 for each lily ring you skip through (three rings float on the pond each day, and each counts once per stone) and +5 for reaching the far bank. Glimmer stones count double.
- Par is 8 skips. Reach it on any stone and today counts toward your Par Streak. Streak milestones pay a bonus on the day you reach them:
| Streak | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 3 days | +25 MPC |
| 7 days | +60 MPC |
| 14 days | +120 MPC |
| 30 days | +250 MPC |
Rewards
Coins are paid once per play, by the best stone of the play, plus +5 MPC per lily ring hit during the play. Your pet earns XP with every play.
| Best stone | Reward |
|---|---|
| 0–3 skips | 15 MPC + 10 XP |
| 4–7 skips | 40 MPC + 15 XP |
| 8–12 skips (par) | 80 MPC + 20 XP |
| 13–19 skips | 130 MPC + 25 XP |
| 20+ skips | 180 MPC + 30 XP |
Plays
- 3 plays a day of 3 stones each, resetting at midnight MPT. VIP members get 2 extra plays.
- A play is used when it starts. If you leave the page mid-play, come back within 15 minutes and you pick up the same play with the stones you have left.
- Every throw is simulated on the server — the game only shows you what the pond decided — so the leaderboards stay honest.
- The Stone Skipper daily quest counts a completed play.
The buoys
Your lifetime best stone is marked by a red buoy floating exactly where that stone sank, so every visit you can see what you are trying to beat. Your friends' best stones show as faint buoys with their names.
Leaderboards
- Today's Best Skips ranks each player's best single stone of the day (score as the tiebreak). When Skip Stones is the Featured Game, this is the board the Spotlight Prize Board pays out on.
- The all-time most skips in one throw is a GOAT leaderboard.
Tips
- Watch the mark, not the needle. Pull first, settle your aim, then release on the mark — the sweep is slow enough to time.
- Full power is not always right on a choppy day: a slightly softer throw with a perfect release beats a hard one that lands on a wave.
- Line the guide up with a lily ring on your first stone — a ring is worth 3 points, the same as 3 extra skips.
- Into a headwind, aim straight and accept fewer skips; in a crosswind, aim a little upwind and let the pond bend the stone back.
