Welcome Home: MiroHomes Open Their Doors

August 6, 2026 | 49 views | 2 comments

Every pet you own has been sleeping somewhere. As of today, you get to decide where.

MiroHomes are here: one room, all your pets, and a pile of furniture to arrange however you like. Open /homes and yours is already waiting.

Furnish it with real things

Furniture is not a special currency or a menu of presets — it is ordinary items. Beds, sofas, rugs, lamps, plants, wall art, fridges and toy chests all live in your backpack like anything else, which means you can buy them, sell them, auction them and trade them.

The shop is Homeward Hollow, run by Snug, a brown ChocoShell turtle who has strong opinions about soft furnishings and the professional advantage of carrying his home on his back. He stocks 43 pieces across furniture, wallpaper and flooring, and the rare and epic items go fast.

Place a piece and it moves out of your backpack and into the room. Take it back out and it returns, ready to sell or place again. Nothing is ever consumed by decorating.

Arrange it properly

Drag anything anywhere. Flip it to face the other way. Push it in front of or behind other pieces. Make it bigger or smaller — anything from 0.6x to 1.6x. Your room holds 50 pieces, and everything saves itself as you go.

Your pets are in there too, and they are draggable just like the furniture. Want a calmer room? Tuck a pet away and it steps out of the scene until you bring it back.

Some furniture actually does something

Three kinds pull their weight:

  • Beds slow how fast your pets' hunger, happiness and health drain away — by 15%, 20% or 30% depending on the bed. Each one covers two or three pets, and the game hands your best beds to your highest-experience pets automatically.
  • Fridges hold food outside your backpack. Feed straight from the fridge, as often as you have food in it.
  • Toy chests hold toys, for the same reason. They arrive empty — stocking them is your job.

And friends can come round

Anyone can look at your room. It has a public page at /homes/yourusername, linked from your profile, and there is a switch to make it private if you would rather not.

Invited friends get more than a look. Invite someone from your home page — friends only — and they can walk in. Properly walk in: you pick which of your pets you arrive as, you move around the room, you can see each other, and there is a chat box. While you are in there as one pet, your others politely step aside.

Guests can also help themselves. A visiting friend can feed their own pet from your fridge and play with their own pet using your toys. Your food, their pet. There is a limit — two snacks and two toy plays per visitor per home per day — so nobody clears you out, but the door is genuinely open.

Where to start

  1. Go to Homeward Hollow and buy a bed. It is the one piece that changes how the game plays.
  2. Open your MiroHome and put it somewhere sensible.
  3. Drag your pets in around it.
  4. Invite a friend and see what they have done with theirs.

MiroHomes closes out Housing system, one of the longest-standing requests on the Road Map, and folds in the storage cabinets idea while it is at it — the fridge and the toy chest are the cabinets.

Go make a mess of it.

This is only v1 of MiroHomes. Many improvements to come!

Will it expand to a room for each pet, or just the one room for all of your pets?
