New: The Egg Basket - Your Adoption Egg Is Safe While You Pick a Name

No more losing an egg while you think of a name!

Until today, an egg in the Adoption Center wasn't yours until you'd typed its name and hit Adopt. If you took too long, someone else could grab it first. A lot of you said you'd been typing random letters just to keep an egg, then paying 2,500 MPC to rename it later. Thanks to everyone who posted this on the Road Map!

WHAT'S CHANGED

Adopting an egg is now two steps:

1. Pick an egg and confirm it. The moment you confirm, it's yours. It comes off the shelf so nobody else can take it, your nest is used, and your adoption cooldown starts.

2. Name it in your new Egg Basket. Take as long as you like. The egg waits there safely and doesn't start hatching until it has a name.

You'll see a banner on your My Pets page, in the Adoption Center and on your dashboard whenever an egg is waiting for a name. While it waits, the egg holds one of your pet slots.

OTHER EGGS LIVE THERE TOO

- The Partylotl egg from Inviting Friends now goes straight into your Egg Basket when you claim it, so you can name it whenever you're ready.
- MiroPass Prestige eggs you've claimed show up in the Egg Basket too. You can name them there or on the MiroPass page, same as before. They still need an open pet slot.

Names follow the same rules as always: 3 to 16 lowercase letters or numbers, and unique across MiroPets. The Egg Basket checks your name as you type.

Can we get to name slots per pet? One its username and two a name we call our pets. This way we have an rp thing we can call it. I don't know how this would work, but I would like to see what I actually call my pets somewhere in there bio. This would be a non unique name.

Yeah, I'm just worried about to many names being taken and never released again. We need a way that names are releashed again after awhile.

Add a number or unique spelling. I’m not taking pets from players.

I'm not saying take pets from players. I'm saying when they are releashed to the wild the name should be made free at that point.
