Griffin Week: A Griffin Egg Every Hour

If you have heard a whoosh of wings over the Adoption Center this morning, you are not imagining it.

For one week only, the Griffin is the featured species at the Adoption Center. Until October 14th, at least one Griffin egg lands on the adoption shelves every hour, on the hour, on top of the usual eggs. Kara has cleared a whole shelf for them and is pretending not to be excited.

What Is a Griffin?

Eagle at the front, lion at the back, and very pleased about both. Griffins have a golden beak and a swept-back crest, a fluffy feathered chest ruff, a big pair of wings, bird forelegs with golden talons, and a tufted lion's tail swishing behind them.

Until now, most players have only seen one by climbing the MiroPass Prestige path. This week, the everyday Griffins come to you.

Twenty-Nine to Collect

The hourly egg is drawn from 29 different Griffins.

The ten commons cover every color: Bluetalon the blue, Griffle the green, Flamewing the orange, Glimmeriff the pink, Gryffin the purple, Griffy the red, Goldifly the yellow, Cuddlegrin the brown, Graywing the gray and Glitzwing the white.

The ten rares bring a bit more flair. Emberpuff runs hot, Griffleaf sprouts leaves, Glacifin is frosted with ice, Aqualion is ocean blue, Gryphoon crackles like a storm, Griffizzle wears two tones, and Glitzgriff glows in neon. Bizzyfowl turns up in a business suit, Chefgryph in a toque and apron, and Griffball is dressed for lacrosse.

The nine epics are the real prizes. Cosmigryph carries a galaxy in its feathers. Grifflet runs the rainbow, Gumdrop is candy-striped, Griffling is dark as midnight and Glintfin shimmers. Wizgriff has the starry hat and robe, Piragryph the pirate gear, Nerdyfin the spectacles, and Mergriff swaps its lion half for a fish tail.

The legendary Griffins and the lovestruck Loveykin are not in the hourly egg drop.

A Brand-New Banner

Pop into the Adoption Center and you will spot a brand-new banner at the top of the page. It has:

• a ring that fills up as the hour ticks by, with a countdown to the next Griffin egg
• a tracker showing which day of Griffin Week it is, and how long is left
• a peek at some of the Griffin eggs you could find

Remember that you can adopt one egg every 12 hours, and each adoption uses a nest. If you missed the egg you were hoping for, check back after the next hourly refresh.

Wings in Battle

Griffins are built for action, too. In the Pet Arena, every Griffin has Sky Strike: it takes to the air and dives on an opponent from a distance. For a moment during the dive, nothing can touch it. In Pet Dash, those wings give Griffins a Double Jump.
