The Goats Have Arrived — and So Have the GOATs

A New Face in the Pasture

Say hello to the Goat — the twenty-ninth species to join MiroPets, and the first new arrival since the Kangaroo bounded in back in April.

Goats turned up with short curved horns, long floppy ears, neat cloven hooves and a stubby little tail that never quite stops flicking. And they did not come alone: there are thirty goats in all, one for every colour and theme in the game.

There are the everyday Blue, Green, Pink, Purple, Red, Orange and Yellow. There are the rarer sorts — Flamegoat trailing embers from a crest of fire, Glacibaa dusted in frost and drifting snowflakes, plus Ocean, Forest, Storm and Two-Tone. The epics are showier still: Cosmogoat wears a whole galaxy across its flank, Raingoat runs the full spectrum nose to tail, and there are Candy, Dark and Shiny besides.

Then there is the dressed-up crowd. Nerdgoat in its bowtie and spectacles. Pirategoat under a skull-and-crossbones tricorn, horns poking straight through the brim. Wizzgoat in a starry robe with sparks drifting round its horns. Mergoat, whose back half is a shimmering fish tail. Chevrio the chef in toque and apron, Bizzybleat looking very serious in a suit and necktie, and Goalie in full kit, ready for kick-off.

A Goat Egg Every Hour, All Week

Here is the part worth setting an alarm for.

Until 28 July, at least one goat egg is added to the Adoption Center every hour, on the hour — on top of the usual eggs. The board refreshes at the top of every hour, so there is a fresh chance to catch one sixty minutes from now, and the hour after that, all week long.

You will find a countdown on the Adoption Center page telling you exactly how long until the next egg drops and how long the whole week has left to run.

Two of the goats keep their distance, mind you. The Chrome and Golden legendaries do not appear in the adoption rotation — as ever, legendary eggs are found by other means.

So Who Is the Greatest Of All Time?

The timing is not a coincidence.

Arriving alongside the herd are the brand-new GOAT Leaderboards — permanent, all-time rankings across 20 games. Not a daily reset. Not a weekly reset. The best single run anyone has ever posted.

Finish first on a board and you are that game's GOAT. Here is what that gets you:

  • A trophy on your profile, hand-made for that specific game
  • A banner on the game page itself, announcing you to everyone who plays it
  • The legendary Greatest of All Time charm
  • And here is the kind part: the charm is yours forever. Even if somebody eventually knocks you off the top spot, you keep it. The trophy, though, travels — it belongs to whoever holds the record right now, so it is always worth another run at it.

A few things worth knowing before you start climbing:

  • Boards track your best single run, not your career total, so one brilliant game is all it takes
  • Every board started fresh at launch, so nobody is defending a score set years ago and everyone begins on level ground
  • Ties go to whoever got there first — so if a record looks beatable, do not sit on it
  • You can see every board, every trophy and every current title-holder at the Trophy Case.

    Meanwhile, at the Gym

If you fancy your chances at a trophy, you will want stronger pets — and the MiroPets Gym has just had the biggest overhaul in its history.

First, it is properly staffed. Coach Roary, a tiger with strong opinions about form, now runs the floor and has something to say every time you drop by. The whole gym has been rebuilt to be quicker, too: training no longer reloads the page, so you can put a pet through its paces without waiting around.

The new mechanics are where it gets interesting:

  • Daily streak. Train on consecutive days and training gets cheaper — 1% off per day, up to 10%. The discount applies from your first session of the day.
  • Coach's Daily Challenge. Roary picks one stat to focus on each day, the same for everybody. Train that stat and take +50% XP and a 250 MPC bonus, once per day.
  • Milestone charms. Four of them, at 10, 50, 250 and 1,000 sessions: Warm-Up, Regular, Gym Rat and, for the truly devoted, Iron Champion.
  • Extra Rep Tickets. Out of sessions for the day? A ticket buys one more. There is a Golden version too, which adds a session and makes that training free.

One quiet fix worth calling out for the long-time lifters: gym XP was not feeding your pet's XP charms the way it should have been. It does now — so those hard-earned reps count towards Rising Star, Seasoned Companion, Elite Partner and Living Legend just like everything else.

Go On, Then

Thirty goats to collect, twenty titles to chase and a gym that finally does your training justice. Whether you would rather fill your pasture or your trophy shelf, this is a fine week to be greedy about both.

May the best MiroPet win.
